Delegate: Prime Time Bid Multipliers

Context: News or sport demand source (DSP) wanting to bid aggressively during evening prime time and weekends when audiences are largest, with conservative off-peak bids to preserve budget.

Expected result: +50% bid during prime time (18–23 UTC), +20% on weekends, fallback bid during off-peak.

Effective bids by scenario

ScenarioCalculationEffective bid
Weekday evening (18–23 UTC)$3.00 × 1.5$4.50 CPM
Weekend evening (18–23 UTC)$3.00 × 1.5 × 1.2$5.40 CPM
Weekend daytime$3.00 × 1.2$3.60 CPM
Weekday daytimedefault_bid$2.00 CPM

Rule priority logic

Multiple rules can match the same auction — rules fire in priority order, and only the first match is used.

Weekend prime time (18–23 + Saturday/Sunday) matches Rule 1 (priority 1) — applies both multipliers. Weekday prime time matches Rule 2 (priority 2). Weekend daytime skips Rules 1 and 2 (hour doesn’t match 18–23), falls to Rule 3.
